FRI JUL 7 - MARIETTA SQUARE ART WALK - Marietta Square Art Walk continues from 5pm to 9pm. SAT JUL 8 - CIVIL WAR ON THE HOMEFRONT EVENT - Join the William Root House Museum & Garden as we travel back to July 1864, when the Root family fled from Marietta, leaving their home to the advancing Union Army. Head outside to meet with Union soldiers as they take over the house, constructing a headquarters and attempting to recruit new soldiers. 10:00am - 4:00pm at the William Root House Museum & Garden; 80 N Marietta Parkway NW, Marietta, GA 30060. SAT JUL 8 - METRO MONTAGE XVII EXHIBITION - Metro Montage is the MCMA’s annual juried exhibition featuring all types of genre, medium, style, subject matter, concept and/or technique.  Metro features works of fine art by contemporary artists that showcase the diversity within our nation’s culture.  Light refreshments served ~ Cash Bar ~ Opening reception is a benefit of museum membership ~ All future members and other guests are welcome at $10 per person. JULY 12 - FREE SPAGHETTI DINNER - Sardis Baptist Church is hosting a free Spaghetti Dinner the first and third Wednesdays of both June and July. The community is welcome to enjoy dinner from 5:45-6:45 and invited to stay for Bible Study at 7:00 pm (for both adults and children). MON-FRI JUL 10-14 - SUMMER THEATRE CAMPS AT THE STRAND - Theatre Intensive (July 10-14, 9am-12:30pm)-Great opportunity to get deeper into the ins and outs of theatre. A well-rounded student of the arts makes for a better performer -- both offstage and on. Parents are invited to the last hour of class on Friday for a showcase of what the students have learned in camp. Ages 11-15 | Price: $125. Peformula (July 10-14, 1pm-3pm)-In the Earl Smith Strand Theatre’s musical theatre laboratory, young performers will focus entirely on music, dance, and drama, discovering the formulas for performing success! The week-long camp will yield a Saturday performance on The Strand stage. Tuition price includes attendance to the Saturday performance and a Performula t-shirt. SAT JUL 15 - RAILROAD RENDEZVOUS - Railroad Rendezvous is scheduled from 9:30am until 5pm rain or shine. There will be a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including model train layouts, railroad-themed activities, and crafts. The event will feature live music by local bluegrass musicians. SAT JUL 22 - COLOR ME 5K - The Color Me Free 5K color run is a way to help free child victims of sex trafficking and have fun while doing it. It’s a 5K unlike any other! THU JUL 27 - CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY - The Marietta Police Department is pleased to announce its upcoming Citizens Police Academy. The eleven week program is FREE of charge. Classes will be held every Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Marietta Police Department for eleven weeks. Open to residents, business and property owners of the City of Marietta pending background check. MONDAYS  - FARMERS MARKET & DINNER AT THE DEPOT - downtown Kennesaw.  Hours are 5:30 - 8:30 for food trucks, 3:30 to 7:30 for farmer’s market - we made a bigger overlap so people could shop both. Great mix of new and existing vendors in the farmer’s market. Live music each week and other entertainment and surprises throughout the season. A good variety of rotating savory and dessert trucks. Family friendly environment, dining outside and neighborhood block party. Picnic tables will be provided, but guests are always welcome to bring their own blankets and chairs.

FRIDAYS - ACWORTH FARMERS MARKET - The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market will begin this season on Friday, April 7 and continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 27.  The market is located in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street. Shop a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh baked bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams to choose from each week. SAT/SUN  – MARIETTA FARMER’S MARKET. Year round on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Sundays: May-October - 12 pm till 3 pm. Takes up residence on N. Park Square. Market customers have lots of variety to choose from including heirloom tomatoes, fruits and vegetables that are rarely, available from the grocery store. MARIETTA SQUARE ART WALK - The first Friday of each month starting in March through November. Art Walk celebrates the vitality of Marietta’s diverse cultural Arts scene with artists, businesses, and organizations representing a variety of artistic disciplines.  The evening comes alive as performance, dance, culinary and visual Art permeates every corner of the charming Historic Marietta Square.  Free, self guided walks, patrons can enjoy gallery openings, live music, and many of the boutiques. GLOVER PARK CONCERT SERIES - Last Friday of every month April through September. The concerts are free but if you are looking for a “front-row seat,” a limited number of tables can be reserved for a fee. “Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar. Lumière is held on the second floor lounge on select Friday and Saturday nights from 6-10pm starting during the winter months. GHOSTS OF MARIETTA WALKING TOUR (7:30pm) Walk the streets of our haunted city by lantern light, guided by one of our talented storytellers. SATURDAYS  MARIETTA SQUARE ARTISAN MARKET is on Second and Fourth Saturdays.  April through November. The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. It is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm from April to November. Enjoy the paintings, drawings, and photography of fine artists settled alongside skilled craftspeople who feature an eclectic roster of distinctive goods including fire pits, cutting boards, terraria, pens, and fine jewelry.
